Another Day Another Dollar !

Well life is moving on, and today is about making that moment happen to our advantage, it has been a while since my last entry but I am so glad to see all this is still here...
A huge change was made in my business seven years ago and has taken up a lot of my time, now with things coming together I feel this may be a good time to share , hopefully it will not only benefit the business but help anyone reading this too...
So in late 2013 we broke ground on a shop expansion, and opened in 2014 with a sales floor, website and new goals to meet, sound over whelming? ...it was
but we dug our heels in and like a turtle going up hill slow and steady we are finally seeing a crest of a wave to guide us through.
For anyone out there thinking I CAN'T ...trust me you can, if you dream it you can do it , it just requires time patients and research and staying true to yourself and Do Not Over think it.
So with a small budget and a determination we offered sales but in the beginning we only took in Consignment, now we offer inventory which helps our customers to have more choices and a better experience when shopping with us.
So lets look at the bigger picture... some may wonder WHY go into sales when you're already doing well with Alteration business...so the truth of it is our goal is to increase the budget with sales to help replace having to sew so much ...( as much as I Love it ...I'm only one person and to keep the bills up it takes me hours of sew time to justify the cost of living )
But with that said ... I will always sew, but after 20 plus years of pleasing the public with their ideal I was feeling like the creativeness in me was being sucked away , its a long story but people will always want you to sew for them but rarely do they allow you to be the creative designer, they want to bring in a picture to have you knock off and to me that is NOT what a designer is RT? so I have put the brakes on all that for now.
And yes this blog is about sewing , but I also wanted to write this bio in order to share with all of you that it really can work... you simply have to stay focused rt?
I'm asked often how did I begin, if your looking to be independent and in business for yourself simply put... you can and it really only takes a want to.
Now I want to stay true to my blog and end this Bio post with a sewing tip of the day...

So here it is....It's easier to allow yourself room for error than to expect perfection , especially on the first draft , so do not fret over what isn't working and fix those sections that you have control over ,then amazingly the rest will take care of itself , don't give up and just keep going because this is how we learn rt?
